Save vs Splurge: 10 Products That Will Rescue Your Dry Winter Skin
Winter is coming… for your dewy summer skin. But fear not - these products will rescue you in your time of need!
Remember those beauty Summer days when ten layers of clothing wasn’t necessary and you weren’t frantically looking for your missing glove while you’re rushing out the door? Yeah, me too. Let’s have a moment of silence for Summer, shall we? But winter is here to stay for the next 4-5 months - sooo let’s take a deep breath and accept that first *inhale, exhale *- now let’s get comfy in our 10+ layers 😉
What I wanna talk about today is SKINCARE! I would say that I’m definitely more of a skincare person than makeup person. I for sure like makeup too, but I really LOVE learning about skincare, testing out different products and I’d much rather invest in something that will improve my skin on a deeper level rather than a surface level like makeup does.
Now, with that being said - I don’t think that a cream/lotion will fix everything and I try to be weary of products that claim to fix everything because that’s nothing but a pile of bs. What’s that saying… Jack of all trades, master of none, right? There’s only so much that a topical treatment can do.
Your skin is your largest organ so it needs special attention, and that includes taking care of yourself as a whole. So while these products will act as kind of a supplement to your skin’s overall appearance - it’s still important to get quality sleep, drink LOTS of water, eat whole foods (essential fatty acids like wild caught salmon rich in omega 3s are amazing for supple skin) and if you have access to 1-2 hydrating facials over the next couple of months - that would do wonders for your skin as well.
So let’s get down to bidness here - I’ve laid out my fave products that I use during the time of year when the air hurts your face aka classic Canadian winter. I’ve even given you options depending on your budget, you can choose to save or splurge on each product!
Honourable mentions: Burt’s Bees lip balm (love the pomegranate one), The Ordinary product line and CocoKind sticks (I love the Matcha stick for an under-eye moisturizer).
